    ✨ Lauren is the owner of ATHENA, and opened the doors in January of 2024. Her goal is to create a space for women to learn how to lift confidently, get strong asf and be in a wholesome and supportive space. Lauren has a double Bachelors in Exercise & Sports Science and Business (Sports Management), she has also studied Nutrition, Pre & Post Natal Coaching & is an Eating Disorder Accredited Coach. After more than 10 years in the fitness industry, having managed and owned gyms, she decided to bring her Strong Not Skinny motto to West Footscray and follow her dreams of a studio specialising in Women’s fitness. ATHENA isn’t just about getting strong in your body, it’s about longevity of movement and prevention of age related conditions, it’s about finding joy in movement and destigmatising what it means to be a woman in the gym. Most importantly it’s about celebrating and empowering exercise and strength training for women.

  • Bina Patalia

    Personal Trainer & Pre / Post Natal Coach

    Meet Bina - A Personal Trainer, bringing her expertise on strength movement and exercise.

    With over 5 years of hands on experience as a Personal Trainer and a BSc in Psychology with Sports Science, Bina is passionate about empowering individuals when it comes to strength training and movement for longevity and wellbeing.

    Bina strives for a powerful body and mind connection when moving your body through movement patterns and strength training.

    Bina has a great interest in supporting and maintaining womens strength during their pre and post natal journeys. She holds a creditable certification in this field, so she’s your go to here at the gym.

  • Romina Volo

    Pilates Instructor

    Romina started out as a PT but found her niche in Mat Pilates after completing her training in 2021. She loves the way you can really challenge yourself through bodyweight movement - strengthen, tone, and, of course, have fun!

    Romina's classes are dynamic and take inspiration from all sorts of exercise - classical mat pilates, HIIT, boxing, and traditional gym-based exercises. You'll do at least one pulsing exercise in each of her classes!

  • Bronte Loughran

    Yoga Instructor

    Bronte is a yoga teacher with over 10 years of experience, qualified in Vinyasa, Yin, Hatha, Breathwork, and Meditation. Her classes blend mindful movement, conscious breath, and moments of stillness to support both physical strength and nervous system balance.

    A qualified sound bath facilitator, Bronte integrates sound and vibration into her teaching, creating immersive, grounding experiences that encourage deep rest and connection. Passionate about community and genuine support, she creates welcoming spaces where students can move, breathe, and simply be exactly as they are.

  • Rosie Buje

    Group Fitness Instructor

    Rosie is a mum of two and a Cert IV qualified trainer with a genuine passion for helping people become the best version of themselves. Currently studying a Bachelor of Business and working as a support worker, she brings a caring, people-first approach to everything she does. Life has taught Rosie the value of kindness, resilience, and staying true to who you are - values she carries into every training session.

    A Day 1 member of Athena Gym, Rosie has experienced the community from the very beginning and truly loves the supportive environment it offers. She’s excited to give back to the place that’s been part of her journey and to bring fresh energy, new ideas, and something special to the Athena team.

  • Holly Colvin

    Group Fitness Instructor

    Holly is a fun-loving gal who's always happy to bring the vibes and energy! Holly absolutely loves training and has a diverse background in both performance and endurance sport. She has successfully completed a marathon, an Ironman 70.3, HYROX and loves a good challenge. 

    Holly has spent 10 years as a professional dancer, 5 years as a dance instructor and has been coaching group fitness classes for the past year. This experience has shaped her dynamic coaching style, with a strong focus on technique, movement quality, and creating an engaging training environment. 

    Holly is passionate about helping members build confidence, improve performance, and achieve their individual goals. She values community, connection, and fostering an environment where everyone feels motivated and empowered.

  • Korina

    Yoga Instructor

    With over a decade of experience as a strength coach, Korina has spent the last several years exploring the art of slowing down. Since 2018, she has both studied and deeply practised meditation, Reiki, breathwork, and nervous system regulation, cultivating a passion for helping others reconnect with their bodies and inner wisdom. Officially qualifying as a yoga teacher in November 2025 and teaching ever since, she brings together knowledge, mindfulness, and self-discovery in her Sunday Vinyasa classes. Each class is an invitation to pause, breathe, and to listen. She can’t wait to meet and guide you inwards.

  • Daniela Falco

    Group Fitness Instructor

    Daniela is Group Fitness Instructor with a passion for helping women feel stronger, more confident, and empowered through movement. She holds a Certificate III in Fitness and is currently studying her Certificate IV in Fitness to further expand her knowledge and coaching skills.

    Daniela's journey with Athena began when the gym first opened its doors. What started as a member's commitment to her own fitness quickly grew into a genuine passion for training, personal growth, and the incredible community that Athena has created. Inspired by the supportive environment and the strong women around her, she decided to pursue a career in fitness and share that same encouragement with others.

    Known as the Light of Athena, Daniela brings positivity, energy, and authenticity to every class. She believes that fitness is about more than physical strength, it's about building confidence, resilience, and meaningful connections. She loves being part of a community where women support and uplift one another and is dedicated to helping members feel welcome, capable, and empowered every time they walk through the door.
